ROBERT HARTLEY
At age five, Robert's love for horses began when he received his first pony. His name was Dusty and the two of them became best friends.
Robert started showing in 4H, and then later as a Youth in the Wyoming AQHA Circuit, under the guidance of Rodger Petersen.
When Robert turned sixteen he started riding and learning about Reining and Working Cow Horse with Steve Schwartzenberger.
At nineteen, Robert took his first job in New Jersey apprenticing under NRHA Hall of Famer, Rocky Dare. He then moved to Germany three years later to start his career.
Riding for Frank Orozco and moving to Central Point, OR in 2000, gave Robert the chance to enter the winners circle. Shining Freckle, Busy Indian, and Dry Spec A Chex are just a few of the many talented horses he trained and rode.
In 2004, Hartley Performance Horses LLC was created. It was that same year that Robert and Stacy Jo met, and then married that next year.
A highlight for the Hartley's was a trip back to the AQHA World Show in 2006. Robert and Shining Freckle made the Finals and finished 5th in Senior Reining.
Harrisburg, OR became home in 2010 and six years later the Hartley's purchased the 15 acre ranch. The facility offers a place for people to enjoy their horses through the services offered: training, clinics, lessons, and breeding.
2023 was an outstanding year for Team Hartley, with many successes for clients and a trip of a lifetime back to the AQHA World Show in Oklahoma City, OK.
Robert continues to serve as an AQHA Board Of Director (2016), AQHA Professional Horseman, ASHA President (2017) and WSSH Chairman (2011).

FAMILY
Robert and Stacy Jo Hartley live with daughter Hope Rose (16), in Harrisburg, OR where they own and operate Hartley Performance Horse LLC.
Son, Brandon Hartley and Tiffney Fisher live in Southern Oregon with their two children, Colton (4) and Beau (1).
Slick, Boulder, and Harley add much love and laughter to the Hartley family.
